Oceans Design Group was asked to design marketing materials for The Standard Hotel in Miami. They wanted their new collateral to reflect their current brand guidelines. Oceans Design Group was up for the challenge! Many national companies and big corporations cannot change their brand identity because this will work against them and cause confusion to their customers or prospective customers. So as we designed their Postcards and Flyers, we followed their current brand guidelines very carefully. Brand guidelines can consist but are not limited to: the use of only certain fonts, the use of certain colors, the placement of images in the design’s layout and even the ratio of the text. Big brands and big companies will spend millions of dollars on Marketing throughout the their lifetime. When doing design work for them, you need to do research and make sure you are consistent with what their brand represents and follow their guideline rules. From time to time, even the large corporations need updating. But when you do a reBranding/ facelift to a Brand, you must be very careful to keep the integrity of their brand.
